Garam Masala – Traditional Indian spice blend

Garam masala (Hindi: गरम मसाला, Punjabi: ਗਰਮ ਮਸਾਲਾ, Urdu: کرم مسالہ‎, Bengali: গুরম মসলা) is a classic ground spice blend widely used in Indian, Pakistani and Bangladeshi cuisines. The name means "hot spice blend", not because of its spiciness, but because of its warming effect on the body.
